| On Sunday the 3rd of March at the Mackintosh Church at Queen's Cross, Glasgow, the artist took part in an event which started with a colourful display of traditional Japanese kimonos. The event also included some excellent opera singing, featuring arias from Madama Butterfly. Perina-Miller's Mackintosh-inspired kimono design was the first on display among many interesting ideas from all the designers. The artist's design featured on page two of The Herald (03.02.08) and the Kimono will be on display along with the other artist's work from the 4th of April until the 20th at the Mackintosh Church. | ||

Mackintosh-Inspired Exhibitions The artist initially began to develop an interest in the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh in 2005 when she had her initial floral exhibition at the Hill House in Helensburgh, Scotland. Subsequently, in 2006, she was the first artist to be granted access to paint the Hill House itself. Following the success of these exhibitions, Perina-Miller was offered the chance to paint the interior and exterior of the newly-renovated Mackintosh Church at Queen's Cross in Glasgow. This fascinating building has provided the artist with a powerful source of inspiration for the forthcoming exhibition in June 2008 which promises to take the artist's unique watercolour style in new directions. |
